Calpurnia is respectful of the community of Maycomb, yet she will not tolerate mean and bias people. Jem, Scout and Calpurnia are on the front porch one day when Mr. Radley walks by and Calpurnia says to the kids, “There goes the meanest man God blew breath into” (12 Lee).
