First, I would like to discuss Callahan’s feminist argument about abortion. She begins the article stating how the feminist movement over abortion has thus far been a conversation that is primarily in the “liberal political circle”(Callahan, p. 167). She also recognizes the good intentions to of the pro-choice counterparts to the pro-life feminists but states that they are morally flawed. The moral right to control one’s body is a common theme that those who are against abortion hold, and Callahan is no different. She believes that controlling your own body only applies in cases of organ transplants, mastectomies, contraception, and sterilization. However, she does not believe that the argument to control your body is enough to support abortion.
