The protagonist is Buck, a half saint bernard half scotch shephard dog, and the antagonists is the man in the red sweater, and including the other men Buck was passed along to. The changing weather and Spitz are also antagonists. The man in the red sweater and the other men Buck was passed to are antagonists because they beat Buck with clubs. The weather because Buck is used to California weather but he is placed in snow and wind, he also has to adapt to his new habitat. And what I mean by that is that it take a while for it to become exciting. So the first 4 chapters were really hard for me to stay focused and read. But after it started to become more interesting I started to enjoy this novel way better. If you see any of your friends or family members looking for a book I would suggest this novel, The call of the Wild. The memorable quote I thought inspired me was, “Love, genuine passionate love, was his for the first time.”

Overall I really liked this book. It has love, sad, and confidence all mixed in one. I would recommend this book to other people. But my one problem with this book is that it takes way too long for it to become interesting. I would tell the person you are talking to that it takes a while to get interesting but when it does you can barely put the book down. I loved The Call of the Wild and I bet you will
