“Call me Santa.”
“… What do you want from me, Santa?” she repeated.
“See those gifts?” He pointed to a table in the corner, stacked with toys and appliances. “Wrap them. I’ll be back with more.”
Suddenly the Christmas-y tentacles reached out and dug into Dianna’s pockets, taking her and her boyfriend’s wallets.
“What are you doing? Please, that’s all of my boyfriend’s Christmas money!”
“I’m sure he’ll be happy to know it was used to for good. Have fun with the elves.”
He disappeared.
After a moment of adjusting to the fact that he had completely disappeared, she stood up and went for the door, but she couldn’t get it open. She tugged and tugged, but nothing. She tried one of the windows, but they wouldn’t budge.
As she was struggling with the window she began to hear something crawling along the floor. When she looked down she let herself wonder for a moment if perhaps she was having a horrible dream.
Creeping on the floor were what looked like little skeletons wearing elf regalia. They twitched and slunk across the floor, the sound of their footsteps driving Dianna mad.
“Wrap the presents, wrap the presents,” they whispered, hopping onto the table and trying to push boxes.

Once they were all around him, they began biting into him with animal efficiency. They were eating him. He screamed and bled onto the hard wood. Dianna looked away, but she couldn’t escape the sounds. The screaming, the nauseating chewing. She started to ball. Slowly the sounds died down and all there was was her own tears and her own fear. Suddenly she felt a big pair of arms wrapping around her and she froze, thinking it was her turn. But he didn’t do anything. Santa’s arms just squeezed her softly. His beard was soft and he smelled like cinnamon and hot
