Calixta Has Done Was The Wrong Thing To Do Essay

I do agree that what Calixta has done was the wrong thing to do; though I do not think she realizes this yet. She has cheated on her oath as a wife to her husband and a mother to her son and she can never take it back or change it. This may have been an afternoon of passion, long in the waiting, but now she has selfishly taking honesty and trust out of her home. What is worse yet, is that this affair has not only dimmed this home but will carry over in the home of Alcee and his family. This damage to the trust shared between husband and wife cannot be fixed or replaced; even if the spouses never find out the two must live with the knowledge their misdeeds.
Life is full of difficult choices and many of us think we make the right ones, but many times we realize they are not. To string a relationship along knowing that it is not a satisfactory one is unfair to everyone involved. This journey through life, must be thought out in the interest of those around us as well as ourselves. If people are not happy or fully satisfied in the life they have chosen, then the best choice is to leave. These are only temporary feelings that soon fade into a devastating reality of what has really happened. Many times, when a woman is not faithful to her husband the first reactions are freedom, joy, and pleasure because the actions seem like a fantasy. When an affair has occurred, there is soon to follow, guilt and betrayal, because the woman has changed to status of her house hold with this action.
