To kill or to be extinct? Zalophus Californianus Californianus are known as the California sea lions one out of the two species found in the washington state. The columbia river salmon and steelhead are facing a serious threat of extinction due to the sea lions since 2002, the salmon and steelhead population have been decreasing over the years and many are worried about the extinction of the salmon and steelhead. The population of the california sea lions has been increasing since the 1980’s in which the population was 300,000 sea lions, the population continues to expand at a grow rate of approximately 5.0% annually. However due to the growth of the sea lions the population is too big to feed all of the mammals they are endangering the species
