California High School Interview Essay

At 38 degrees latitude north and 92 longitude west, lies the rural farming town of California, Missouri. This town is rich in cornfields, small businesses, and many churches of all denominations. From the quiet fields, to the busy town square this city is home to 4,341 people. What I believe makes California stand out from the other towns is that it has the “oldest continuously operating fair west of the Mississippi” (Kunze). But the thing that impacts me most about this town is the California High School, it’s staff, and the students. I spent my elementary and middle school years in a very small Catholic school. And when I say very small, I’m not exaggerating. There were only thirteen kids in my graduating class. We were in our own little bubble and knew everything about each other. But when it came time to graduate eighth grade and move on to high school, it also came time for all of us to split up. The majority of the kids in my grade were heading on to one of two different Jefferson City Catholic high schools. Most …show more content…
I’m so lucky to be able to go to such a wonderful school. I would like to thank all of my friends, classmates, and teachers for giving me the best four years of school. Everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life. Now that I’m months away from graduating, I can say that i've enjoyed high school better than my elementary and middle school years. These four years were my most educational years, when I say educational, I mean I’ve learned so much about myself and so much about life. Don’t get me wrong, their are some days I would much rather skip school to hang out with my friends or stay home and sleep in but I enjoy seeing all my friends in class. Once again I would like to thank California High school, it’s students and staff for four wonderful years. I’m very proud to be a

I interviewed Principal Kim Schaefer, of Whitehorse High School (WHS). Kim said the school has about 300 students, grades 7 thru 12, 99% Navajo, 33% English Language Learners, and 100% free or reduced lunch. A. Trends and Benchmarks: Whitehorse is in “school improvement,” the benchmark is the center of everything, how they get measured, and seeing where kids are at, three times a year. The school is very transparent with all their data, students are constantly seeing the data and scores. Teachers set a goal of the benchmark at the beginning of the quarter, then based on their six week assessment, the goal may be adjusted.…

Good Afternoon Mr. Lanigan, The APS manual states that the AP interview is to begin with an “introduction and statement for the purpose for the interview”. APS policy (1703.50) The policy also states that the APCW is to address the allegations in the report. There is no specific guidance as to when the allegations can be brought up or how you approach the allegations. I am curious to hear your critique of how our staff conducts their interviews of the AP. I am also looking forward to your training that will be much later this year.…

I really enjoyed listening to Claudia Rankin’s presentation and her readings from her newest book of poetry, “Citizen: An American Lyric.” I really liked how she incorporated visual art with her poetry, because it means she spent the time analyzing her own work and the painting/picture in order to match them up. I was also really struck by the picture of the two white houses that had the street sign “Jim Crow” in between them. This is a very realistic picture; a lot of developments as far as I have seen, except for the “Jim Crow” street name, have very few black or Hispanic people living in there. There is only one black family that lives in the same development as my dad and zero Hispanic families.…

Moving schools away from all of my friends should’ve been an appalling experience, surprisingly, it was a blessing in disguise. I went to Agnes Baptist Elementary from kindergarten to 5th grade and I had friends that I've known since I was 3. I loved it there and knew the school like the back of my hand. Everything was superior, like most good things, though there were times where they weren’t, I was harassed by a bully almost everyday, my grades were getting inadequate, and my mom didn’t want me to be a sad, disconsolate 7th grader at a new junior high. In the result, I moved and I went to Savage Middle School, a school that had 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.…

As my high school career is winding down, I take time to reflect on the last four years of my life. I think of how my attitude and personality has changed since the beginning of freshman year. I think of all the people I met and how they impacted my life. I think of the fun times, but also the hardships I endured. Most importantly, I think of what I learned-in my worst of times, when nothing has gone my way, God has a plan.…

Title of Your Report I wish this could have been about Berkley or even Caltech two colleges that I’m really interested in because of their physics programs. However, since they were so far away, and my dad didn’t want to take me, I decided to pick something close, Fresno City College. I know that I will be going to a community college, and will be then transferring somewhere else, hopefully, Berkley. This is the third time that I've visited Fresno City College, and each time I’m taken back by the size. On another occasion, I visited Cal Poly, as a club trip, and that place was also huge.…

100 years ago, there were 48 schools functioning in the Southern Yorke Peninsula area. These schools were small in student numbers generally averaging 20 to 40 students in each school. There are various thoughts to why 100 years ago there were several schools in the Southern Yorke Peninsula area these include the location of families, which were by and large farming families with large distances to travel to the local school. As time has gone by and transportation has become easier, we now see there are only eight schools operational on the Southern Yorke Peninsula. With only two schools providing Reception to Year Twelve.…

These last four years have been a whirlwind for me. Between school, gymnastics, extra curricular activities, work, cheer, and many more activities I have to say I have been very busy throughout my high school years. There has been ups and downs, yet through all of them I have learned valuable lessons that I will take with me as I go off to college. I tried to challenge myself each year in a different way, being able to look back and reflect on them is a great way to see how far I’ve come since that first day as a freshman on crutches nervous as all get-out to attend Auburn Riverside High School. Freshman year, I started off the first month of school on crutches, and the following two months in a boot.…

High school is the most unforgettable thing to remember in my past four years in high school. My life has changed when I first enter high school because as of myself I have changed over the years. All I could remember the first day of high school was not a typical day for the students to enter high school, everyone was nervous and uncomfortable being in a bigger building. First enter high school we all were unsure of everyone that we don’t know and not even sure where to go on the first day. Now high school ended for me realizing how it would be difficult for me to face the final year of high…

I walked into class and saw other people preparing their questions for their senior interviews I pulled out my paper and and sat there waiting for my senior to arrive. When all the seniors started walking into the room I actually ended up asking my teacher which buddy was mine, because I had forgotten. When I finally found my senior, we went off into a different room where only one other interview was happening. I set up garageband and when I was finally done setting it up my senior, Kent, realized he forgot his phone in another class and ran to go get it. When he finally came back I turned on GarageBand and turned off the surprising tick tick of the metronome I thought was turned off.…
