Willow Charter Academy (WCA) is a charter school located in Lafayette, Louisiana and managed by National Heritage Academies (NHA). A close examination of WCA’s Faculty and Staff Handbook, Student and Parent Handbook and NHA’s Employee Handbook show correlation to the federal law and describes some policies and procedures related to students and staff. While the Employee Handbook references many relevant federal laws while describing their procedure, it rarely mentions anything state-specific as NHA operates nation-wide. Iowa Falls Riverbend Middle School is having renovations with the 6th graders moving in the next year. One of the renovations is of the science rooms during the summer. It all started when Karen Koenig, the 7th grade science teacher at Riverbend Middle school wrote a letter to the school board, noting the idea of renovating the science rooms before the 6th graders become a part of the middle school. Lacy Elementary school is a public urban school k-6 that has a capacity of 500 students, but is serving 650 students. The school 's capacity is at 130% which is well over the desired amount of students to be able to serve efficiently with the limited resources provided.. Most all of the students qualify for a federal lunch and breakfast program. According to the analysis, recent rezoning projects have caused new neighboring students to be bused to and enrolled in the school. On the April 4th ballot in Jefferson City, Missouri, voters will make the decision to vote on Proposition J plus C as to whether the two-high school plan will be active or not. Proposition J includes a $130 million dollar bond issue to build a second Jefferson City Public High School and restore the original Jefferson City High School, standing since 1963. Proposition J will also bring an increase to taxes by .65 cents. Proposition C will include a .45 cent increase on the tax levy which will be split: .25 to cover costs for the second high school and .20 to cover reviving costs for the original Jefferson City High School.…

The Lower Merion School District provided laptop computers to high school students as part of a one to one program. The program allowed the students to bring home a laptop computer provided by the school district. Unbeknownst to the students or their parents the laptop computers were all programed with spyware that gave the school district access to the computers’ webcam. The goal of the one to one program was to increase the connectivity between home and school for students.
