I do believe that there are circumstances under which a person should take calcium supplements. Calcium is one of the most abundant minerals in the body, yet so many people still have trouble consuming enough calcium rich foods. Calcium is by far the most important mineral for our structure. One circumstance under which a person should take calcium supplements is if a doctor specifically prescribes a patient a calcium supplement due to having any kind of deficiency. Another circumstance is if you are aware that you are not getting enough calcium in your diet for whatever the reason is. I strongly believe that women of all ages should take calcium supplements. Women are more prone to get osteoporosis, so being cautious with the amount of calcium
