Calaveras County

Calaveras County is and always will be my home. Many high school students are eager to leave the county and go and explore the world. A large number of students will not return to Calaveras as it has a number of key issues that keep those from returning. One example is the ruralness of the county. Due to Calaveras feeling as if it is in the middle of nowhere, there is not much to do for a young aspiring adult to partake in. The bustle hustle lifestyle that young people seek is not found within Calaveras. There are no public place to hang out that are geared towards a high school graduate audience. Places such as a bowling alley are only located in the surrounding counties. There needs to be more availability of variety, especially in San Andreas, of businesses to choose from. Another reason why people may not want to return is due to the newly formed pot problem that arose from the Butte Fire Devastation. New parents are not going to want to raise their children in a county where cannabis is overgrown and easily obtainable. No parent in their right mind would want their kid to have easy access to any form of drug. The county is currently trying to ban cannabis within the county. This is a step in the right direction, however, the county needs to crack down on this and enforce the laws to …show more content…

If the county were plant flowers all along the roadways, it would give the county a happier and beautiful aesthetic. Much of the county’s architecture is old and fading. Calaveras High School has recently put up a magnificent mural. Not only Toyon and the elementary schools need a makeover, but the entire county. There are many spots that a mural would be a beautiful addition to a blank place on a buildings

Another 50,000 or 60,000 may have tried their luck for a year or two before abandoning the Rockies as hopeless" (Abbott, Leonard, and Noel). This goes back to my previous statement that if it wasn 't for the Colorado Gold Rush other territories wouldn 't have been populated or just clearly people went back were they originally came from some of those people left with a good amount of gold others didn 't had that much luck and left empty handed. But most of those miners started a new life here in Colorado with becoming farmers and ranchers with great big lands and growing crops but not everyone would be so lucky because if that had land where crop would not grow properly that it would just be a waste of money. Other of the miners that would stay behind they went to the most popular city like Denver and Colorado Spring to find jobs in different…

In order for an improvement to be classified as a capital improvement it must meet three requirements: increase the value of the property, become a part of the property in a way that detachment would destroy the property, and the intention of the improvement should be a permanent addition (“Capital Improvement”, n.d). Many districts across the United States undergo frequent capital improvement projects to improve the conditions of their schools, however, these improvements can be costly, as a result; leaders in the district are hesitant and take care as to whether these projects will occur taking…
