The book “The Monkey’s Paw” and the play that we went and watched at ISU were same at some points but they were also different at some spots. The book, like all books, went deeper than the play did. In fact, the book was actually more enjoyable for me because I understood it more. I loved watching the play and reading the book, and now i’m going to compare and contrast them.…
A man with greed is a man with no friends, heart, or soul. Greed is a horrible thing. It is a hot and burning desire for money, fame or anything else that would please a person. there was a man in a book, play, and movies called a Christmas Carol. His name was Ebenezer Scrooge and he was an old man full to the brim with greed.…

Some of these similarities and differences are small, small parts of the book or movie that can be barely noticeable as you are reading or watching, while others are big differences that stand out. You glance down, you see your love of six days laying on the ground, dead but still warm. Now, realizing that your one chance of true love is gone, do you attempt to drink the poison left on his lips or go straight for his dagger? This is the conclusion to the classic tragic love story Romeo and Juliet. While many different directors have tried to capture the tragedies that occur during Shakespeare 's play, Franco Zeffirelli created his portrayal of Romeo and Juliet in 1968. Romeo and Juliet is the classic love tale of star crossed lovers facing their feuding families while falling in love in the hectic 1500’s filled with death from not only feuds but also the plague.…
Growing up I loved reading short stories. Two of my favorites were “Little Red Ridding Hood” and “Goldilocks”. These two stories are my personal favorites and I see them as the best until this day. The stories that we read in class shared both numerous similarities and differences with the plays that we saw at ISU. Personally I feel that the two had more contrasting components. But the plays certainly gave the audience a clear idea of what play they were acting out, what they were doing, and why each little piece of the play was important. The plays had a different tone than the stories.…

The scene was very different than I had imagined it in my head. I got a few things similar like a couple of characters costumes and some of their tones and emotions when saying certain lines, but the majority of the actual play was much different than the picture I created in my mind. The scene started off with four fairies all running onto the stage having a good time and giggling while running around. They were clearly all very childish and they all came off a little bit immature. They were chasing each other and laughing.…
Many fairy tales have similar and different storylines and themes. Analyzing Brothers Grimm’s Cinderella and Joseph Jacobs’ Catskin with the Propp’s Thirty-One Functions, the Cinderella and Catskin tales are versions of the same tale for they have similar story attributes and themes even though they do not share every function on the Propp’s list. In both tales, a female hero who has a father works as a kitchen maid and is constantly harassed and ridiculed by a maternal figure. In Cinderella, Cinderella is harassed by her stepmother who makes her pick “bowls of lentils out of the ashes only” only to tell her that she cannot go to the festival with them.…
