Cal State University Long Beach is the third largest campus of all 23 schools in the CSU district. This wonderful school contains 37,430 students counted from fall semester 2015. I believe CSUN has 40,000 students and CSUF has 38,000 students. The acceptance rate for this school 36%. It it pretty low since their are a lot of competition with other students. The mascot is Prospector Pete. This character is the 49ner prospector that represents the school. This school has a sculpture of Prospector Pete for respect. The slogan is “drive toward greatness”. The school colors to represent this school are gold and black.

The cons are general and other colleges would have these con too. One con for this school is the expenses for the classes. The classes will have different prices depending on which major you are taking. Parking is always difficult. It gets packed really quick, so you’d have to get up an hour early for parking. The parking is in the south side of the campus, while most classes are in the north side. Except for the kinesiology building, that is near the parking lot. So that can be a pro for people who’s majoring in kinesiology. The parking permit is also expensive. The annual price is $342, Fall/Spring is $123, Winter is $25, and Summer is $71 per semester. There is a great majority of degrees to choose from. This university offers 137 different BS degrees, 92 master’s degrees, 5 doctoral degrees, a PHD in engineering, Dr. of nursing practice, and 29 different teaching credentials. It provides a wide variety of what type of degree you would like to choose. My opinion, I find this school’s speciality is the nursing classes. This school provides so many great classes like pathophysiology, pharmacology, health care economics, and another four more classes for the core courses.
