“How is she doctor,” asked eighteen year old Caitlynn Latimore. “We don’t know quite yet, but in the meantime, why don’t you go sit with her,” Doctor Liam suggested. Caitlynn nodded and walked down the hall into room 119, where her friend, Shayla Burgh, was lying in the hospital bed. Shayla was taken into the hospital after what should have been a deadly car crash, but miraculously, Shayla had survived, but had been severely injured. Shayla opened her eyes when she heard the door to her hospital room open and then shut quietly. “It’s about time you came and visited me,” Shayla said quietly. “I was just talking to the doctor; he said that they don’t know what’s wrong yet,” Caitlynn explained, “but he did tell me to come and sit with you for a while, so I’m here now. Oh! And I almost forgot. I brought you some art supplies!” …show more content…
Besides from being an artist, Shayla was on the college swim team with Caitlynn. Both Caitlynn and Shayla went to UVS and were on the Division 1 swim team.
“It certainly did take you a while to visit me,” Shayla said, “I thought, I thought you had forgotten about me.”
“I know, I know,” Caitlynn replied, “But coach was making me stay overtime for the week which made me super tired. Plus the Olympic trials are coming up, I have to train, but I promise you, it will never come between us ever again.”
Shayla lay back in her bed and smiled, thinking of how nice it would be to get back into the water again. Sadly for her, her chances of being in this year’s Olympics were so slim because of her accident; she had no idea if she would have to go into rehab or, maybe the lord wanted her to make it to the Olympic trials, and will help her feel better, but only time will
