In today’s society, an internet connection is a precious commodity that enables the population to communicate with one another, access information, and work. Without an internet connection, people and business cannot compete in today’s world. Likewise, it is important for Texas to develop a better telecommunication infrastructure. Historically, Texas has done a decent job supporting the development of the telecommunications infrastructure. For example, “In 1995, the Legislature created the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board who raised $1.75 billion; and funded more than 11,000 grants to assist educational institutions and healthcare centers establish telecommunication projects …”…
However, this strategy’s main issue is feasibility and enforceability, as it is extremely difficult to implement. In essence, the strategy calls for a ban on the listed items because the companies cannot substantially lower the risks in any of their products for a long time. For the items to stay on the market, tobacco companies will need to heavily reduce the number of toxic chemicals in their cigarettes, car manufacturers will need to come up with an indestructible car with zero emissions that anyone can afford, and beverage companies need to brew up some great tasting non-alcoholic drinks. I am contempt with harsh taxes that can provide benefits equal to the damages to society. Since this strategy is overly-aggressive, alcohol and tobacco consumers will find ways around the taxes and high costs by producing their own bootleg sort.…
The Commerce Clause is found in Article I Section 8, of the United States Constitution and was the original grant of power to Congress by the people to regulate interstate commerce. The clause is short and simply states “Congress shall have the power to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among several States, and with the Indian tribes” (The U.S. Constitution, 1788). Though the language seems clear in its meaning, in the 240 year history of the United States the clause has been interpreted and its powers expanded by the United States Supreme Court to permit federal appellate review of matters ranging from religion and to gambling and everything in between. More recently, the Commerce Clause has been used as a federal vehicle to allow…
Interestingly, by cross referencing the legislative clauses against current fiscal and population data values evidence of the core problems this initiative hoped to address can be identified. For instance, the first provision within the ACA requires all U.S citizens to have health insurance, but prior to 2010 44 million American did not maintain consistent coverage (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2016, p.1). Studies have shown that uninsured individuals are less likely to have a primary physician, therefore, relying typically on the emergency room for care (DeMichele, 2016a, p.1) . In addition, these individuals frequently do not practice preventative care, nor do they receive medical attention in a timely manner (DeMichele, 2016a, p.1) . These contributing factors have increased the likelihood of death in uninsured Americans by 40 percent, equating to as many as 45,000 deaths per year (Cecere, 2009,…

The regulation also had the employees social security and medicare taxes to be withheld from their pay.…

The development of Obamacare helps to increase the utilization of health care, improve the quality, and makes healthcare more affordable. Another factor that may affect health care providers is more providers may be willing to accept Medicaid insurance. Overall, Obamacare will increase business and the use of services, which will most likely cause a decrease in the cost of health care services. Policy implementation: The beginning phase for the implementation of Obamacare is rulemaking.…
Obamacare is designed to help the millions of uninsured Americans in the United States. Many Americans where happy after realizing that they will finally have health insurance without being turned down for pre-existing conditions. The government is not forcing you to buy into Obamacare and will not penalize you if you find another insure in the healthcare marketplace.…
Furthermore, a 3.8 percent surcharge on investment income was applied to individuals that make over $200,000. With this tax increase, it brought $210 billion to help fund the health reform program.
