Cadbury has always been a successful, wealthy company- even during the recession in the U.K. and surprisingly during that time there was a 30% profit gain as people turned to chocolate to make them feel better. The American company, Kraft bought Cadburys for $19.6 billion not because they were bankrupt but because Kraft offered enough money that made the shareholders agree to selling.
After the Cadbury Salmonella scare in 2006 which resulted in over $81million dollars worth of chocolate bars being recalled, Cadburys have since tried to always achieve the highest safety precautions after saying in 2007 over $20 million was spent in improved production and testing. Cadbury uses TMQ, which stands for Total Quality Management, which makes sure the correct amount of chocolate is added at the correct time to ensure the chocolate will always be of the highest standard for consumption. Cadburys has joined with Mondelez International to change the world for the better and positively impact the environment and the communities they work with. For example, The SARVAM project, from 2006 to 2013 was the development of two villages, Puthurai and Peramba in India, that brought long term stability and prosperity to the village and positively impacted the lives of over 1,400 families, giving them a chance for education, safer living environments and housing. Cadbury has not only shown there social responsibility in India but all over the world. Cadburys have donated and fund the Puebla orphanage in Mexico and the Brezeq orphanage in Poland. In North America cadburys has funded the dental care to thousands of children. In Africa they are rebuilding schools and homes and supporting communities and giving education and support for HIV and AIDS.
