Caroline couldn’t wait for to go to camp for two weeks. She had been going for years; she always stayed in Cabin 4. She had packed everything she needed for two weeks of fun, including her prank supplies. Pulling pranks was one of the many traditions of Cabin 4. When she arrived, she could smell the pine trees in the warmth. The lake was glimmering from the sun shining down on it. “This is heaven” she said as always. It was July 22nd at Camp Bugnee in Wisconsin. As she walked into Cabin 4, she dropped her phone. “Oh shoot” she said. As she went to pick it up, she saw the all too familiar green, dirty converse. “Elise!” she squealed with a grin on her face. Elise hugged her and replied “Caroline, I missed you.” Elise had been Caroline’s best friend since Kindergarten, but when she moved two hours away in 5th grade, they no longer got to see each other. However, they always went to Camp Bugnee together, and always stayed in Cabin 4. Instead of telling anyone what I did, I decided I should keep it a secret. I was too scared to come forward because I didn’t want to be in trouble and get kicked out of camp. However, the counselors threatened that if nobody came forward, everyone in our cabin would be in trouble. Should I tell someone? Should I explain that it was supposed to be a joke? I decided to keep it to myself because they wouldn’t punish everyone. That would be unjust and unfair. Yet, I felt like not telling them was just as bad as what happened. I couldn’t decide what the right thing to do was. This guilt was making camp feel like a nightmare that I couldn’t wake up

I pushed open the door just enough to get through and entered the barn. There were fresh hay bales all over and I sat down on one and looked around examining my surroundings. I did a quick scan and nothing caught my attention at first, however, I scanned again and I saw what appeared to be an old antique chest in the far left corner of the barn. I walked over to it and saw what appeared to be a old lock on it that was hanging open.…
