Hospitals are always trying to meet the health care needs of the community. Through the increasing population growth and needs, Cabarrus Memorial Hospital plans to increase the cardiology program would most definitely comply with their mission. Cabarrus has lost cardiac surgeries to other hospitals in the area, causing delay in services, and inconveniences for the patient and the families as far as traveling for their care (The Case for open heart surgery at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, 2008).
2) Does CMH have sufficient infrastructure and financial resources/leverage necessary to add the program?

Ten licensed beds for acute care to become operational as coronary care beds, a new operating site, renovation 5,811 sq. ft., add to the radiology for equipment. The cardiac catheterization already exist, along with diagnostic testing.
6) If the threshold population required for initiation of the program proved adequate, what were the financial obligations and obstacles to success?
Financially, the threshold is stable and the obstacle to success looks promising (The Case for open heart surgery at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, 2008). With connections on the outside and a stable internal environment the future will be adequate and financially stable during the first three years. After the first three years improvement should predict a greater financial outlook.
7) Discuss the pros of states requiring certificates of need to permit hospitals adding facilities and equipment.
