Prior to the day of the procedure, my mother had just completed high doses of CHEMO and radiation treatments. Life for my mother will never be the same. Terrible things happen and sometimes one just moves on, however, this case will not rest until patient care and treatment improves, the involved health professionals are properly trained on how administer general sedation, improved surgery/procedure protocols are better implemented. In addition, my mother needs notification about what types of improvement training will be implemented through research-based practices at Central Florida Regional Hospitals.

Individual issues warrant attention and the whole experience needs to be addressed. My mother has experienced everything from nightmares, falling out of bed, and what appears to be aggressive screaming in your sleep toward the doctor and nurse. I do not understand how or why they could have been so irritated by someone else’s expression of pain. As a doctor or nurse, you cannot alienate or deny a person’s feelings of pain. If someone is hurting and expressing pain during a surgical procedure, then the persons trained to care for patients should understand that movements and comments about being in pain IS A CRY FOR HELP and should not to be taken
