Adidas Group is committed to sustainability and will to explore new territory in an effort to increase its position in the forefront of corporate sustainability. The Global 100 list is looking at quantitative sustainability, economic indicators, environmental impact and societal impact.
The Global 100 is is compiled by “Corporate Knights, a Toronto-based media and investment advisory company. The investment advisory arm, Corporate Knights Capital, builds indexing solutions and market-beating portfolios for institutional clients (corporateknights.com)”.
In examining the relevance of The Global 100, it is importance to look at the methodology in its ranking on sustainability. The Global 100 is known as being one of the most intensely data-driven examinations of corporate quantitative sustainability. The Global 100 Many companies are embarking on CSR reporting and the guidelines for sustainability reporting still vary in reporting frameworks and indices involved in the process. In comparing DJSI and The Global 100, there are apparent and similarities and vast differences. The Global 100 framework is more globally focused and accepted than is the DJSI and containing a wider spectrum of sustainability reporting. The Global 100 covers more organizations in its ranking and assessment and includes more world organizations. The DJSI is a great tool for measuring sustainability efforts for a company for investors, it lacks the true “impact of environmental and social incidents (Das, Daisy and Niladri, 2014)”.
