CAT TEST (COPD assessment Test)
It is a questionairre assessing the global impact of COPD . Range of CAT scores from 0 to 40 . Higher scores denote a more severe impact of COPD on a patients life .(63)
BODE INDEX –
BODE Stands for Body Mass Index , Airflow obstruction , Dyspnea and Exercise capacity .It is a composite marker of the disease taking into consideration the systemic nature of COPD .(64)
Patient Group A –Low risk , Less symptoms
Typically Gold 1 or 2 (Mild or Moderate airflow limitation ) and /or 0-1 exacerbation per year and no hospitalization for exacerbation and CAT score / 10 or MMRC >/2 .
Patient Group C –High Risk ,Less Symptoms
Typically GOLD 3 or 4 (Severe or Very Severe Airflow limitation) and /or >/2 exacerbations
