I believe it is the responsibility of leaders to provide an educational environment where each person is understood for who they are and valued for what they bring to the educational experience. I believe that leadership is service to others. It requires listening, building relationships, integrity, ethical decision making, and community. Leadership also requires setting high expectations, sustained by accountability and conflict resolution.…

It presents itself as an issue from an early age(such as Kindergarten or Pre-Kindergarten) all the way up to bullying even in the workplace (such as hazing or even cyberbullying). It is a problem that only worsens as the ages climb and can become even suicidal if it gets too severe.…

The aspect of leadership that I need to focus most on improving is that of having the ability to balance work, school, and time with my family. I find that a great deal of the time I spend at home is spent working on schoolwork. Many people have the tendency to procrastinate on projects, and find them having to rush to do these tasks at the last minute. A big part of my problem is feeling that I need to complete assignments as soon as they are given.…

In today’s society, strong leadership is necessary more so than ever before, especially in the younger generation. The ability to communicate with others effectively, coordinate resources and manpower, give guidance to those in need, and assisting in reaching a more beneficial outcome or future are all important tasks and qualities that a leader must have the capacity to do. Without effective leaders, the world would progress nowhere, and hoping for others to take such a position is unreliable. I would be the best representative to attend the 2017 Youth Leadership Conference as I already possess some leadership positions and qualities, but have room for improvement to ensure peak functionality and success.
