This summer, I work at the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division in Clarksburg, WV as a Student Workforce Trainee. Above all, CJIS provides the law enforcement communities of the United States with services which help them keep the populations under their jurisdiction safe. Among these services is the National Data Exchange (N-DEx), which provides a tool for law enforcement agencies to share information with each other about investigations. Similarly, CJIS provides the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, the Law Enforcement Enterprise Portal, Uniform Crime Reporting, and many other services.
