CIA Special Operations Group (SOG) is a division of the CIA that does paramilitary operations and espionage around the world but mainly in the Middle East. SOG has performed operations around the world but mainly in the Middle East. SOG employs many ex-military forces personnel. SOG performs a variety of operations that involve specialized training. They are: protection for important people, advanced high speed driving/off road driving skills, low light/no light combat, breaching explosives, firearms training, military and contractor training. SOG has performed operations around the world. Agents teamed up with Army Special Forces (ASF) and the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan in 1980 to fight the Taliban. In Iraq, SOG linked with ASF and Kurdish forces, tying up Iraqi forces. In Pakistan, SOG along with Pakistani forces captured an architect of 9/11. …show more content…
Some are ex-military special forces such as Green Berets and Delta Force soldiers. Others are selected based on intellectual and physical abilities and may have little or no experience. Agents need skills such as quick thinking, physical agility, mental flexibility, acting, driving, etc. Today the CIA continues operations around the world in places such as the Middle East, China and Russia. They continue to preserve our national security through intelligence
