CIA Job Application Essay Examples

Getting hired by the Central Intelligence Agency has been my primary focus for almost four years now. While I was still serving in the Army I had decided to start college classes so as to expedite the process of getting my degree once my time serving in uniform was over. I knew that I wanted to continue to serve my country, but I also knew that I wanted to see the world, and to be challenged while doing so. After doing some research into my options I decided that pursuing a career with the CIA was by far the most appealing thing I could possibly imagine. Working in the DC area at the CIA’s headquarters would obviously be an incredible achievement for me, but I still want more than that. I would like to work for the Directorate of Operations because it adds the honor of serving my country, the CIA as well as an added degree of excitement. However, I don’t believe that this limits what I can bring to the table if I am able to get a position with the CIA. During my adult life I’ve strived to push myself as far as I can go. I’ve run in marathons and exhausting, climbed onto the strut of an airplane and let go, and was able to summit Mount Rainier here in Washington. Academically I’ve strived to finish my degree in a timely manner by going to school year round to expedite the process. I can work under pressure, in emergencies, and either as part of a team or by myself as needed. I was eventually able to ask out the barista at Starbucks (after two years), and now we’re engaged to be married in March. Sometimes I get nervous about the things that I’m striving towards, but I always manage to push on through and accomplish virtually anything I realistically set my mind
