Personal Experience
My personal experience of volunteering in Deurali Village Development Committee (VDC) of Gorkha district in Nepal during 2015 mega earthquake has provided me with first-hand experience interacting with people in a state of trauma and crisis mode. This example substantiates by ability to handle critical cases as a first responder by being a good listener, along with providing compassion, empathy and maintaining confidentiality to people, who are on the verge of crisis. Overall, my professional experience has redefined the idea of “people helping people.”
Academic experience
I have gained a sound understanding of local and global health perspective through my undergraduate courses in Childhood Development Concept, Psychology of Adolescence, Healthy Ageing, Crime and Deviance, Sociology of Ageing, Social Ethics, and Qualitative/ Quantitative Research Methodology, along with various elective courses.
Moreover, my academic background has also provided me with a solid understanding of healthcare management, social ethics/compliance and project planning, which will come as a beneficial tool to start my journey towards the CFT program. Consequently, my academic qualification and professional/volunteer work experience have helped to gain diverse understanding that will enable me to thrive as a graduate student and as a CFT
