The CFMEU (Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union) is the major trade union in forestry, construction energy production, mining and furnishing product. The union is among the main stakeholders in native forestry in Victoria. Apart of its functions, the union is affiliated with the Australian Labor Party, Australian Council of Trade Unions and the world federation of trade unions. This union has a major role to play in determining the manner in which the native forests in Victoria are conducted.
