The CES school I would most like to attend is BYU-Provo. From the very time I stepped onto the campus I knew that BYU-Provo was the school I wanted to attend. In 2013 my family and I had the opportunity to drop my oldest brother off at the school for his first year of college. The last few days that I have been at my practicum site has exposed me to many different aspects of post acute care. I started to observe and record my feedback from the nurses, pharmacists, and therapists on the discharge procedure. One of my major projects is to propose a better way and give feedback to the senior leaders on their discharge method and how to better this process for the family members and patient. The discharge method can be very overwhelming at times because the patient and family more than likely went through a situation that happen unexpectedly. Also, during this time, I started on my other project, which is to reformat the post job offer questionnaire.…

In the heart of San Francisco lays the University of San Francisco. Due to USF’s location in the urban area, students are exposed to cultural diversity and the city life, as stated by Ariana Pistorina, the presenter and assistant director of admissions. My choice to attend this presentation was mostly influenced by USF’s location near the Golden Gate Bridge. USF’s main focus is on social justice, which is why USF students learn to be open to experiencing new religions and cultures. An interesting fact that I learned about USF is that theater students perform their plays at prisons that have a relationship with USF.…

Middle Grades are probably the most difficult grades to get through for everyone. During this time of physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and moral development for these students learning about the history of Georgia is literally the last thing they think about, if they even really think about it at all. These students are some of the most difficult students to keep their attention focused on the subject matter at hand, unless of course we are discussing them, then and only then will the teacher get their full attention. During the observation assignment I noticed a few of the developmental theories that correlated with the five developmental stages of middle school students: Bronfenbrenner, Erikson, and Hall.…

The Common Core experiment Writing 122 Joe Spurgeon October 19, 2015 In 2001 the Federal government passed the no child left behind act. This law requires states to create rigorous standardized assessments, then pass at least 95 percent of all students to continue to receive federal subsidies. However, states are not required to meet the same standards, for example, a student in the state of Oregon who passes Oregon’s assessments, could fail the standards of Massachusetts. Thus this led to the creation of the Common Core State Standards in 2009 by the Council of Chief state school Officers and the National Governors Association.…

The aim of this paper is to provide detailed observational notes as well as critically reflect upon the social issues exhibited on my chosen set of bulletin boards. The first bulletin board is located in the Science Wing (SW) building, just before the steps leading to the meeting place.…
