I would like to become a student at Colorado Christian University and obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I chose CCU for my education because I also share in the Christian faith and believe that without God in my life I can not accomplish my goals and dreams. In my personal life, I have had experiences that have helped me with my desire to help others who struggle with similar obstacles. I know I can be a compassionate and objective professional and help people who needs someone to listen to them. Another motivation for obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree with CCU is that I can obtain employment that allows me to better financially support myself. If accepted to CCU, I will be a dedicated student and become more of the person I want to be. …show more content…
Also. Working and learning with other Christians will offer a positive experience and support system which is vital to my success. In my personal life I have not always led a life of sunshine and daisies. I have experienced addiction, depression and suffer from ADHD. I myself have had to turn to others to help me make a better life for myself, whether it be family or a professional. During my time as a patient, I learned many different types of coping skills and took the initiative to further my own learning and completed a certificate program as a Peer Support Specialist, allowing me to help others with what I have learned and experienced. I have been encouraged by those involved in my life to seek an education and career in Psychology as I can help others who are walking down those similar unfriendly roads. God allowed me to experience even my darkest times and come out shinning, so that I could be a guide and help others struggling with addiction and mental health that they don’t have to give up or feel alone.
