This artifact represents my ability to create reading probes for CBM tests and properly documenting the progress of a student based on the data collected. This artifact would fit under standard #6: assessment, since it demonstrates one of the many ways that I can assess my students in the future. This assessment type also demonstrates how to monitor students’ progress which also proves how this artifact fits under this standard. The M&M artifact shows the results of a project we did, which include four people opening up a bag of M&M's we picked separated the colors and found out the averages of each color. I created this spreadsheet using a google document, some of the tools I used consisted of gathering data and documenting the data we came up with. After that I color coded the M&M colors by filling in the background and also created a pie chart to show the data we gathered. I could use a project like this in several different occasions in my class any project I do with my students I could have them incorporate a pie chart and collecting data is something we will be doing throughout our school year. The artifact I have selected for standard seven, is the Osmosis Lesson Plan. I selected this artifact because it reflects on the different adaptions and modifications I would have set up for my students within one lesson for that subject. Another reason why I chose this artifact is because I was able to provide my students with a hands-on science lab, while being able to get the full leaning ability.…

The artifact I chose for standard 6 was the letter I wrote to my student’s parents for PED 356. This letter was sent to the parents of the student to inform them of the behavior I noticed, improvements made through out the semester, and skills that could be worked on at home. The letter to parents from PED 356 relates to Element 6.4 because in the letter I demonstrate my ability to discuss some weaknesses that could be improved in a respectful and sensitive manor. I first discussed in the letter the great personality the student expressed during class and all the improvement she made through out the semester.…

I did not have to send it out to families, I just had to create it. I selected this literacy packet because it was the only project I make like this. Over the semester we had focused on the language and literacy development of young children and this was one of the many projects that we had to do.…

INTASC Standards: 8, 9 Standard #8 - “The teacher understands and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate and ensure the continuous intellectual, social and physical development of the learner (Henson, 2009).” As a teacher it is important to use a variety of assessments to evaluate and ensure that students understand and are learning the content presented in the classroom. For example will assessment be initial/pre course, formative, summative or based on recognised prior learning. The assessor will need to decide the methods or activities to be used for assessment such as observations, performance evidence, discussion or witness/learner statement. How knowledge and understanding is going to be assessed also needs careful thought and could include tests, multiple choice questions, written assignment/task, a reflective journal, verbal questioning or naturally occurring evidence, all of which need to be fit for purpose and relate to the learner’s specific needs. Further considerations for assessment planning are to determine who will be assessing the learning/learner and how progress will be monitored and reviewed following feedback. 3.2 Evaluate the benefits of using a holistic approach to…
