C1- Throughout health and social care settings, important and confidential data will be handled, and it is important that practitioners know the policies and procedures in place when it comes to communicating with other individuals about this information, to ensure practitioners know the boundaries, organisations such as care homes, will have a confidentiality policy to protect the data of individuals. When a carer is looking after a resident they will have to look through the confidential data, this is so they understand the needs for the individual and are able to care for them effectively.
