C. S. Lewis 'Confessions'

As Christians, we are under the realization, work is not a separate entity from our relationship with God. Our work ethic must fall in line with our Christian values. We strive to honor God in all that we do. This wisdom and understanding is also exemplified in the Valiant Woman discussed in Proverbs. Proverbs discuss that the view of Christians in work is to be trustworthy and diligent in hard work, among other things. In Proverbs, we learn about the importance of wisdom and using wisdom in forming connections with others.This book guides us to choose wisdom over self-fulfillment. The writer Augustine wrote about friendships in his book “Confessions”. He discussed how making life choices can be affected by the relationships you share. C.S. Lewis also wrote about his observation that friends must share a commonality with peers when pursuing goals. …show more content…
Consequently, we form bonds with co-workers that greatly impact our lives. Our inner circle and peer group consists of friends, co-workers, and neighbors. The idea of my work ethic falling in line with Christian values has sharpened my view regarding work and my community of peers. I am putting into practice the idea choosing relationships with peers who have a commonality in work ethic. This is an area where I can continue to improve
