It could be because they feel like it is not their business to intervene. They can also not know what to do to stop the bullying; or like me, they don 't want to be the next target (Witnessing Bullying). However, Bystander does have negative effects such as the victim who has been bullied or the bullies themselves. They are likely to develop health problems such as depression and anxiety;therefore to control these health problems, they are likely to increase their use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs (StopBullying). Bystanders could have developed anxiety and depression for many reasons; first they don 't know what to do, and they feel guilty for not doing anything. Secondly, they are afraid to become the next victims. This affects their academic performance because they don 't feel safe in the school, however, they can’t concentrate in their classes. They avoid social activities like parties and extra-curricular activities because they are trying to avoid a bullying situation or not to be bullied themselves (Witnessing Bullying). And last, but not least, Bystanders are likely to become bullies, just like I did, to avoid being bullying
