Bye-Bye Birdie Career Analysis

In 2007 I was in the musical “Bye Bye Birdie”, I thought nothing of it at the time, it was just something my whole school participated in so I decided to join in. I was in the ensemble so I kind of just stood in the back and went through the motions. As I became older and was getting better and more interested i started getting roles in shows. Having a part really impacted my public speaking and confidence in front of crowds. In 2010 i took a short break from theatre, I moved from my hometown in Westchester County, NY to a place I had never heard of before, This of course was the ever so exciting Middletown, CT. Moving to a new place at the age of 9 was hard for me, i didn't have many friends and unfortunately a lot of the students loved to …show more content…
After weeks and weeks of rehearsing, figuring out sets, lights, and sound it came to the performances. Everyone was really nervous because we were under a new director but, i had confidence it would go well. After opening night my director told me that for it being my first time i did the best she has ever seen. When i heard that i knew taking that leadership position was worth it. The second night of the show about an hour before curtain my mom came backstage and said she had to leave. My grandfather had just passed away and she wanted to be with her sisters and mother. Even though i was completely devastated i had learned from many years of theatre that the show must go on. I shed a few tears and immediately continued with putting on microphones and doing sound checks. I was sitting in the booth checking to make sure everyone was ready and decided to call curtain. At this time the same announcement we say every night about flash photography and candy wrappers droned on and on but, to my surprise, at the very end I heard “This show is dedicated to Tara Hightower's grandfather”, I couldn't contain

I enjoy performing in shows, but it takes a lot of courage. Especially the musical "Shrek Jr." I was in. First of all, I had to try out to even be in the show. It was literally a room filled with people judging me. Secondly, I had a terrifying allergic reaction to strawberries right before the show.…

Because Appetite For Love holds such a treasured place in my heart (I got to interview both male leads--Andrew Walker and Marcus Rosner--and they were kind enough to let a novice feature them), I often find myself going back to my review of that film and attempting to connect with the supporting cast of that momentous film. In the case of Antonio Cayonne, I was so pleased to see that he is again being featured in a Valentine's film on Hallmark, and it was a great joy when he agreed to answer a few questions about his journey to become an actor, his current and notable works, and his general outlook on the industry and life as a whole. RH: Why did you decide to become an actor?…

I performed a play called, Dorothy and Alice with my classmate Alex. I played a curious and down-to-earth girl named Alice, while my partner play a timid and modest girl named Dorothy. Dorothy and Alice discreetly joins two different worlds and teaches an incredible lesson. It was very interesting to read the script, memorize it, and perform it on stage in front of all my peers, I never thought I’d be able to do it, especially with all the trouble I had in the beginning. I am glad that I tried something new and did not quit.…

The arts have the power to restore, heal, and connect our community It was the day of Night of Gratitude and everything in my mind made me think about the performance, that would be taking place later that night. At tech rehearsals, we ran through the whole show and perfected some of the small issues that we had. During break, I thought about all the hard work and effort that it took to create such an amazing show. Through the three weeks of rehearsals, a major event took place in the city of Charlotte.…

Throughout high school I had always had a fascination with live performances of any kind whether they be band performances, talent shows, karaoke nights as goofy as that sounds, and even plays. As such I thought seeing a live performance of Miss Julie at the Arkansas Tech Theatre would lighten my spirits and shine a light on some the young talent in the world that happens to live next door to myself. What was performed on that stage far passed any expectation, any standard, and definitely wiped any doubts I had. Upon first entering the theatre my mood was of course a little down because I was stuck in the mindset that I was just here because I had to for a class. It is a rough thing to be honest about but it was how I felt at first.…

I had an extraordinary experience in the production and I have done many of the productions offered to me within Charlotte Country Day because of that show. I have been a part of many performances but a few of my favorite roles to play were Mr. Smee in Peter Pan, Matilda in Elves and the Shoemaker, and Adelaide in Guys and Dolls. I am excited to end my time with the middle school with the production…

the first show I auditioned for here was the winter play, freshmen year. The show was called The Good Doctor, the show was these 12 short stories that all intertwine through this one person who is called the writer. I was cast in the funniest scene out of all of them in my opinion at least. Also the lead in that scene which was pretty important to me to get that as a freshmen. The scene was called the dentist, and it was me and this sophomore performing it for about fifteen minutes.…
