Bva Mentorship Program Case Study

Improved Essays
Please allow me to say, it was a pleasure for the opportunity to discuss the success of the BVA Mentorship Program with you yesterday.

As I was reading all the information you sent yesterday, I was immediately drawn to everyone on the “to” line.
After seeing the Senior Leadership on the “to” line, it is evident the support needed to make this program a success is there.

The power point from Melanie is very impressive, and hit some great points.
The Meeting Notes/ Brainstorming notes provided are right on point and once answered and resolved should set the foundation needed to make the BVA Mentorship Program a success.

My questions would be:
Was the direction given for all these questions to be answered next week?

My junior year in high school, I became a student mentor in our campus’s peer counseling program. This was an incredibly rewarding experience as I had the opportunity to help freshman students assimilate into our high school dynamic. As a peer mentor, I assisted students with personal problems and mediated issues with teachers in order to maximize their learning experience. I also acted as a role model for my mentees by talking frequently about AP and Honors courses and how to be successful in such programs. I put effort into learning about each individual's interests and goals so that I could expose them to clubs and academic courses that they may appreciate such as the Biomedical Academy or our school’s robotics team.…

Standing on stage at The Kennedy Center singing to an audience of veterans, I realized my future accounting degree could combine my career with a valuable cause. After previously taking a high school finance course, I wanted to major in accounting. However, it was not until I participated in the 2015 National Memorial Day Choral Festival that I knew how to use it to serve those who have already served. When my choir director revealed the 2015 trip destination, I was overjoyed in anticipation of experiencing the nation’s capital for the first time in my life. As my choir started learning the festival music, I was awestruck by the dark lyrics of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ cantata “Dona Nobis Pacem” and inspired by others such as Mark Wilberg’s “Let Peace Then Still the Strife”.…

Assignment 1: Does peer mentoring improve college freshmen retention rate? Samantha Dean A common question posed by administrators at institutions of higher education is how to retain college freshmen. The reasons that first-year students do not return to college as a sophomore range from family issues to lack of friends and loneliness to struggling academically and lack of money. Universities cannot control all factors relating to a student’s decision to not come back as a sophomore; however, they can experiment with ways to assist students who feel lonely or struggle with academics.…

On Wednesday, October 7 at 3p.m., I met with my advisor; Summer Balcer to discuss my future college career plans. We discussed which courses would be best for me to take next semester and then put them into my planner on my account. I also decided during this meeting to take US history 1302 over the winter mini session. In addition to the winter mini session, I also am planning on taking Math 1314 during the first summer session and then possibly Government 2306 for the second summer session. I decided to take my math class over the summer because I tend to do better in my math classes when I only have to focus on that class.…
