Butter vs. Margarine

There have been many assumptions about the difference between butter and margarine. Some people believe that margarine is healthier than butter and other people who wouldn’t ever use the cheap substitute that margarine has become.

I was raised on both; my parents have been divorced since before I could remember and mom and dad have two very separate households. For example, my mother is a Pepsi person and my father is coke. My mom uses Miracle Whip and my dad well he uses Mayo. You can see why they got a divorce right? I thought I would break down the difference between these two table top condiments so you can make an educated decision to use both!

This myth is fake!! Even changing one atom can change the whole substance. Did you need proof? What about H2O (water) and H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). Plastic used to be made out of milk...

Myth two: Margarine was made to fatten turkeys but killed them. This is completely wrong. Let’s take a look at the history. Hippolyte Mège-Mouriès created margarine in 1869 in France by the request by Emperor Napoleon III to find an alternative to butter. He made it out of beef tallow and milk.

With this information there are a few bad things about margarine. Margarine has been proven to decrease the quality of breast milk, Decrease insulin response and it can also decrease how fast your immune system responds.

Also they dye the margarine with Yellow 6 which has proven to trigger ADHD. Earlier in history the product was sold white which people didn’t find appealing so a red capsule would be sold alongside just for aesthetic purposes.

Although there are some negative effects of margarine there are some for butter like increasing heart problems but there is good as well like having Vitamin A, vitamin K and
