My goal over the course of my four years at Butler University is to grow and learn as much as I can. This semester will be one where I hope to grow the most. I will be working nearly 30 hours a week while taking 12 credit hours and trying to maintain a high grade point average. This will only prepare me for the future ahead where I am short on time but need to meet the deadline. I am excited about how much I can learn and grow throughout my time at the Butler Business Consulting Group (BBCG).

I dropped one of my classes to enable myself to work nearly 30 hours a week. In this internship specifically, the more hours I work the more projects I can be a part of. All the projects range across various industries which will only help me in the future. One of my goals was to be on a minimum of three projects that spread over three different industries. I am on two different projects as of now, one with a college, and the other within the kitchen and bath industry. I made sure to mention this to my mentor so that I would be given this opportunity. Another goal of mine is to build my network. The BBCG provides a unique opportunity to network to the fullest. We have a strong team who has worked at many large name companies and can help connect us to business professionals. Also, in the BBCG we are given a mentor from the board which contains some impressive leaders such as Andre Lacy. This provides us with another benefit because of all the people they know. My goal is to receive three contacts in the consulting industry, as well as five in the health care industry. This internship, as well as my one this summer at Eli Lilly, will help open my eyes to what industry I truly want to …show more content…
My job title is Student Analyst. I was given a role where I will do marketing, finance, and some strategy based projects as well. This provides me with a unique experience to grow and learn in more ways than one. My job is to help create deliverables and have them done on time. This can range from doing interviews, to excel reporting, to blogging, to market research. I will help in many different ways. We are given real life work since there are not many full-time employees on staff. They allow us to work outside of the office, in order to meet deadlines. Last week, I worked 15 hours outside of work just so I could hit my deadline for a huge project. My goal is to help the project managers in any way to ensure the work is done ahead of time. The BBCG is a consulting firm who's main goal is to serve the mid-size market here in Indiana. It is tough because at times we compete with Accenture, PwC, and other large well-known firms. This creates pressure for us to deliver promising work by the deadline. My project managers are Brian Landis and Trent Ritzenthaler. They both have the responsibility of making sure I am doing above adequate work and that my hours are tracked accurately. Both of my project managers worked at large consulting firms and have tremendous experience. They expect the best and will hold me accountable to
