Marshall Case Summary

Examining the contract with Marshall requires numerous factors to be taken under consideration. Things to take under consideration is the legal, ethical, spiritual, and the over all professionalism of the contract. Upon reviewing the case study involving Marshall many red flags were raised. I will discuss if I should continue to do business with Marshall, the legal ramifications Marshall may bring forth against me and the defenses I have, and the potential impact my termination of business my have on his faith as a new believer.
Numerous contributing factors would lead to the discontinuation of business with Marshall. Despite the actions of Marshall it is best to remember what Matthew 18:15 says, "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.” Using this scripture to guide my path is important to remember when addressing Marshall in a professional manner. I would tell him I am discontinuing my business with him due to his reoccurring late payments for merchandise. My company faithfully fulfilled the orders to Marshall, but Marshall was frequently late on making numerous payments. As a business owner it is best to operate in a professional manner, Marshall not acting professional by not paying on time, and taking advantage of my kindness by allowing him to pay the bills late

One of which was to ask a minor to sign a requirements contract on behalf of my company. Marshall was wrong in asking my son to make such a huge company decision on a whim when he was not old enough to do so. Marshall’s motive was very selfish when taking this approach. Evidently my son did not understand that severity of signing such a piece of paper. Secondly, Marshall never making mention of the contract was wrong. As a business owner, Marshall should have told me about the contact with my son. He just proved that he was not a trustworthy business
