Shania Coffee House Case Study

The form of business that Shania should engage in to open up her coffeehouse should be a limited partnership. If she were to open as a sole proprietor, although inexpensive, she is liable for everything that happens to her business, and she is the only one dependent upon supplying the necessities for the business to operate. These necessities include: the capital to start the business, property, and all other factors that are required to get a business started. By reaching out to her husband, family and peers, she now has other resources for capital contribution that will financially assist the operations of the business. Knowingly that several people in her life are interested in helping her out and becoming part of the organization, Shania then understands that these people deserve a fair share in the potential profits the coffeehouse will generate. The reason why it is better to choose a limited liability partnership as opposed to a general partnership is due to two reasons.
