Business Letter To Neutrogena

Improved Essays
Currently, my Senior Honors English Class is writing business letters addressed to a company that provides our favorite product. As a teenage boy, acne is very common and unattractive. Luckily, I have been using your Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser, relieving my skin from blemishes. Due to this, I have decided to write my business letter to Neutrogena to express my satisfaction.

Many times my family members have noted the clearness of my skin. This is due to the effectiveness of your product. Surprisingly, my vulnerable teenage skin is quite acne-free. While my peers drown with irritated blemishes on their faces, my skin remains fresh and clear. The cleanser also has a refreshing scent. Unlike most acne products, your wash smells refreshing and does not resemble the scent of chemicals. Lastly, the product is quite accessible and affordable. The wash is available in many stores at a reasonable price and size, unlike most skin care products, which usually have a high price with small amounts.

Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun As someone who has always felt the need to be tanned (because it makes me feel better about myself) I've tried a lot of different methods... 1. Natural sun: baby oil, olive oil, no oil then shower then put oil on to lock the sun in, beer, reflective sheet, laying by water, floating in water, some SPF, no SPF, etc 2. Tanning beds: cheap tanning lotions, expensive lotions, no lotion, those that tingle, those that don't, mixing up to 7 different lotions because they all had X number of bronzers in them (the more the better right?) 3.…

"Celebrity endorsements also are useful for attracting new customers to a brand that otherwise may not have held any interest for the consumer. Advetisers often use celebrity with clear skin to appear in an ad for foundation to sell the product. The company claims that its foundation covers age spots, uneven skin tone, or reduces wrinkles to achieve flawless skin. What the consumer is really looking at is someone who already has clear skin skin who is just wearing the product to sell the image Younger women may also want to use this product in order to keep thier skin looking…

That is quite a promise and claim. The message is that if you use this product line your skin will look better in two weeks and may even look like the model in the advertisement (who 's photo has probably been perfected by a computer program). I am not a dermatologist or skin expert, but I do know that once your skin has damage, such as wrinkles, spots from the sun damage or age, there is no way to reverse the affects. Especially not with an over the counter skin care line in the price range of Oil of Olay products. I believe this ad makes big promises that will not come true, however, it is not unethical since worst case scenario will be consumers that are disappointed that they spent money on a product line that they thought would improve their skin when it does…

I decided to go with the Proactiv commercial sequence as I felt it was the perfect example of Monroe’s Motivated Sequence. The commercial first gains your attention by using a celebrity to introduce the product before showing you the “hired” models with their perfect skin that have all been haunted by their acne. Next the ad shows the need for a good acne regimen by telling you how other acne products and treatments don’t work. Then, they give you satisfaction by offering you a solution to your acne problem with “their” product. Next, they give you testimonials of visualization by showing you before and after pictures of the celebrities and models and interviews of them speaking of how their acne has been cured with Proactiv.…
