As a consultant for Target, I would offer several solutions for the crisis at hand. Being that the hackers entered through a vendor, I would propose a stronger security team. I would also suggest appointing a chief information security officer, as ordered by the judge as a solution in one of many lawsuits (Pagliery & Williams, 2015). I would also suggest additional security training for all levels of employees, primarily because the hackers were able to easily gain access to the system.
Not only would I suggest additional security training, but also implementing a better theft security team that monitors the store for unusual activity. This idea would benefit the store tremendously because threats that would otherwise go unnoticed by regular

Evidently, the company’s million-dollar investment of FireEye’s did what it was supposed to do by alerting Target on numerous occasions (Riley, M., Elgin, B., Lawrence, D.). The worst part about this attack was that it was done by “script kiddies”, which is a person who basically uses other people’s scripts and codes to hack into computers.
