Improved Essays
In September 2013 Jessica Bennett, Rusty Shingleton & Matt Johnson had me come into Jessica office to explain that SOT (Select Oilfield Trucking) would roll up into SFS (Select Field Services) and at the time SOT had Christa Wigal and Mary Williams. Christa Wigal was the processor and Mary ran the scales. Christa Wigal had moved up to the now Select yard prior to the roll over to SFS due to getting rid of the office trailer at the stone yard, to save money monthly. I was told during my meeting that I would be the supervisor over Christa and Mary but was not to say anything yet but to start streamlining processes for SOT to roll into SFS.

In the beginning it was very hard to explain changes or mistakes to Mary, she seemed to take it very personal, and almost like she was afraid I was going to let her go. I tried very hard when responding to her to be polite and overlooked certain things because she was so insecure. On multiple occasions she would say I just don’t understand why Dallas just can’t be her supervisor. When we were told we would become Affirm and had discussed with Jessica and the mangers that we would need to get our own Po Processor being we could not use Selects. Mary was told she would need to do some training to become the PO processor. Mary was having issues with her computer when they put the webnet on her computer. I went down to the stone yard to help her. When talking to Mary she explained to me that she was worried about completing the purchase orders, that she would get busy with the scales and would not be able to do both and someone would get upset that she could not get to them when they

The trucking industry has gone through, and continues to go through, some of the most difficult times since the Motor Carrier Regulatory Reform and Modernization Act of 1980. There are five key events that are occurring simultaneously: skyrocketing fuel prices, major reductions in economic activity, massively changing supply chains, falling US dollar, significant pockets of debt secured by trucking assets. The rapid increases in the price for fuel can have been causing a delayed and devastating effect on freight management companies. With the sudden fall of fuel cost, it could result in short-term boosts in profit and a surge of competition within the market to provide consumers with the lowest price.…

Individuals were trying to create a business for themselves in the town by divulging in the idea of a “self-made” man (Man, Lecture Sept. 3). Each individual store and business played a pivotal role in providing for the town. The image wanted to capture the essence of the town and it showed people that the town could provide for people’s needs. I think by showing that Dodge City had ammunition and firearm stores, it shows people that they could protect themselves, because during 1875 many people carried guns with them. Stores like the drugstore and grocery store let travelers, particularly men, know that they could bring their families because there were provisions in the town that can be provided for them (Front Street businesses, Dodge…
