After ten years, you may be earning six figures.” (eLearning Yellow Pages, 2013). Accounting can be very lucrative. I plan to continue my education and have no intention of staying in an entry level position. There are many degrees in accounting, beginning with an Associate’s degree, which can be earned online if necessary, to a Bachelor’s degree. The ultimate goal is to achieve a license as a Certified Public Accountant and an MBA. People who earn this license earn the top pay in the field of accounting. Accounting is not simply about learning through a school setting. A lot of learning is hands on and can only be learned on the job through personal experience. “Although a lot of people are considering this type of career, you can be sure that you will never run out of jobs as an accountant as the need for accountants in all industries and sectors is growing.” (eLearning Yellow Pages, 2013). There are so many opportunities for growth in this career. If you have the drive to further your education the opportunities are plentiful, but even if the drive to further education is not present a person can still find a job without much …show more content…
If you are willing to put in the time and dedication to excel in your craft then there is no limit to the skills you can learn through continued education or the amount of people you can help. The pay for this field is exceptional. Even a person with the minimum amount of education can provide a comfortable living for a family. Business accounting can be a stepping stone to many other paths. Every field needs an accountant in some way! Job security is practically guaranteed, especially with an advanced degree and some on the job experience. Securing a job is important in today’s society. These facts in combination with my own personal characteristics make business accounting a smart move. Business accounting is not simply a job, but a bold career move that can provide stability and security for years to come. Works Cited
