Yes, the counselor can experience several symptoms of burnout that were generated from his/her job duties from work. I know we are told to leave personal issues at the door when entering work, but at times, some of us have failed to do so which has carried over into work performance which is unprofessional. So, avoiding these symptoms requires us as the therapist to take care of our body and mind to be able to deliver the greatest support to clients. I agree, as an individual with daily living everybody needs to discover an activity that releases stress each day and applies it to your daily routine. As a counselor being aware of your stress level is a great way to prevent burnout from re-occurring.
