Red White Blue Burning the fifty stars, thirteen red and white stripes has become a political expression of some Americans dissatisfaction of the government systems. Burning the flag is a controversial issue for some American people. Many believe the American flag is a symbol of freedom, liberty, and human rights. Others believe the American flag has become a negative symbol of hate and division between American people. Each opinion has its reasons as people like to express from their situation or what is case related. Although some people are not against burning the flag, others disagree burning the flag will not resolve the issues. Some students have stated that the reasons they fear to speak out is because of hostile environments and harm that is cause to minority students which results with their ability to live in peace. Safe spaces are ways that faculty and staff have had to create for students who fear expressing their individual rights on campus. On every campus 6 out of 10 college students are threaten of some sort against their beliefs. Making the choice to dishonor, or burn the flag still does not resolve the issues Americans have been dealing with. To understand the reasons behind protest it is truly believe this issue will never die. Some think about what the world will be like when younger children are in college the issues will remain the same. People feel that a person can react and response how they feel through speech just respect others. My family was taught growing up respect others and pray they respect you. Since the election overall picture of how America has been label did bring some truth out to what was hidden and again this goes back to Freedom of Speech. It seems as if we live in a world where the President can say what he feels about minorities and the minute minorities use their rights to defend themselves it is labeled as a threat. People of America would like to feel that it is ok to speak out voicing opinions without the threats. College students believe the government system is misguiding the messages of that deliver opinions with threating to removed funds. Any voice can protest or give opinion however there is still a place for others to voice
