Burn The Longest Research Paper

My experiment is about which type of paper will burn the longest. Fire is a compound that is used in a lot of ways all around the world for burning objects or heating them, it also causes chemical changes. I chose this experiment because I wanted to learn more about fire, more specifically, I wanted to learned how it functioned. I was interested to learn how fire functioned and how it maintained itself. “What did it depend on? What kept it going,” these were question that I’ve kept in mind wanted to answer. Throughout my research, I did answer my questions. This is what I’ve discovered throughout my researches. Firstly, the main topic of my project is fire, mainly how it depends on fuel and oxygen to keep going. Fire is important because it is used in a variety of ways all around the world. From heating our meals to burning evidence, fire is a very valuable resource. To keep a fire going, you’ll need three things; fuel, oxygen, and heat. In order to start a fire, a source of heat, like the sun and heaters, will have to concentrate their heat on the fuel( you can concentrate heat in multiple ways like using a lens to concentrate sunlight or you can apply the heat closer to the fuel) for an extensive amount of time. All papers will be the same size(4in. by 4in.), the amount of time it takes for the paper to be completely engulfed by the fire and turned into ash will measured in seconds. Fire is made from heat, fuel, and oxygen; the heat burns the fuel, and the oxygen combusts the fire forming it. My hypothesis states that contruction paper will last the longest, I chose the construction paper since it is spread out evenly.
