Bunion, or medically termed as hallux valgus, is a progressive condition that worsens over time. There is a less common bunion called bunionette or tailor's bunion, which is normally seen at the joint of your smallest (fifth) toe.

What causes this certain condition?
Surprisingly, even though bunions are commonly occurring, the specific cause is not yet known. However, it was observed that some familial factors leading to abnormal foot function could be a predisposing factor that leads to bunions such as overpronation.
