The Board also recommended the downsizing of their organizational structure to be considered by Yusuf. Downsizing is one of the most frequently used business strategies for reducing cost, returning firms to profit or for restructuring businesses following takeover, mergers, and acquisitions ( Cooper, Pandey, & James, 2012). Therefore, in this case, downsize the operations will affect the employees of the company as it will cause the employees to lose their job. This situation has caused the managerial dilemma but Yusuf and the Bank’s Board of director were fully aware of this situation and prepared to pay the price. As his appointment is to generate the profits, Yusuf make his own financial analysis of Bunga Raya Bank’s within a month. However, the outcome from his analysis is none other than downsizing and close several branches which will include 70 regional branches of Bunga Raya Bank. He knew that his action will affect staff and customers, but his justification is just to make more profits for Bunga Raya Bank and to achieve the organizational goals. To overcome the situation, Yusuf viewed online banking as more promising outcome that can be promote more to the customers and at the same time will help the organization to have a smooth transition due of its changes. Latifa has close relationship with staff and customers. Latifa is the one that doing road travelling to visit every Bunga Raya Bank’s branches in order to make sure the operations are functioning well. Yusuf trust Latifa to approach the staff and customers regarding his plan.
