Bump Stock Essay

The United States is erupting into a constant state of fear. Active shooters are becoming more popular every day. On October 1st, 2017, an active shooter shot from the 32nd floor of a luxury hotel near a country concert. The result was devastating with a total of over fifty casualties. There was one tool that helped to advance the shooter; a bump stock that increases the fire rate. According to an article from CNN by James Gagliano, a retired FBI supervisory special agent and CNN law enforcement analyst, "You really don't have to be a professional armorer to do it.” We should not ban with bump stock or any semi-automatic rifles to keep our country safe. In the article, the author explains that the bump stock was not intended to be a tool to shoot fast at humans. This is obvious as there are no weapon companies that want to aid in shootings. Since 1930, a US citizen is not allowed to purchase a fully automatic weapon. Citizens, military personnel, lawyers, doctors, teachers, students, babies, and plumber; These are the people that surround you every day. We must protect ourselves from harm. We shouldn’t strengthen our gun control laws as that will debilitate our citizens. Criminals will always be able to have access to rifles. Someone with a conceal carry can easily prevent many casualties in an active shooting. In areas where gun control is blurred out of their government, shootings are rare. Shooters fear one thing; other shooters. Imagine if we armed the employees in areas with high shooting rates such as concerts, movie theaters and cross-country events. Right now, we have a strong discord in America. Banning rifles may seem like a good idea, but if we look at the big picture, a gunman will always have access to these
