Cyberbullying: A Big Problem

Cyberbullying over time has become a big problem than what it normally was ad needs to be. Because of all the technology that we now a day have, cyberbullying has become more frequent than usual. This means that more victims feel less safe in their own home, because of the reason being that it normally takes place at home. No individual should feel like they are not worthy enough or that they are just simple trash to the world, every single human being has a purpose and a reason in this world. Regardless, people should never feel like they are alone or that their feelings do not matter. Once pictures or posts get uploaded up on the Internet there is no way to way to get rid of it even though you do, there is still possibilities that it will still be on the Internet. The easiest and most common way for cyberbullying is instant messaging. According to most statistics, most cyberbullies are reported to be girls, and it is twice as likely that they are. Around one third of people on social media have been threatened online, most people that have this happen to them do not tell anyone about it. Only a tenth of the victims will tell someone or file a report about it. Victims that are and have been bullied through the Internet are two to nine times more likely to commit suicide and not tell anyone about it. There is a lot of people that ask why they do it and there is a lot of wonder on how it happens. Based on this paper, there should be a better understanding on the effects and causes of cyberbullying and how harmful and pain full it is for the victims, especially teenagers, that it can be. Instead of enjoying their teenage years they are fearing them because of the bullying. Rather than having fun and hanging out with their friends, they are hiding from their peers and becoming isolated just so that they can protect themselves from being bullied anymore. Society should also be informed on Cyberbullying and what they can do to help out a victim and have a better understanding on how serious cyberbullying can be and how far these victims can take it. It is also for the victims, to let them know that they all have a voice in this world no matter how small you are, if you are being bullied and if you are a victim, a legal guardian should be let known as soon as possible so that an official can put a stop to all of this and make a difference.
