Bullying Special Needs Kids Essay

A study in the British journal of learning support found that 60% of students with disabilities reported being bullied compared to 25% of the general student population. Bullying special needs kids is a major issue everyday in school. People take advantages of kids with special needs but this kind of bullying needs to be stopped. Some people may argue that bullying helps them develop and learn life lessons. However, bullying is not a way of teaching kids these things. Bullying special needs kids does more damaging things than good things. Special needs kids are more likely to be bullied than their peers. Many classmates choose not to be friends with these children, thus leaving them purposely out of the social fabric in the classroom and simply stated, students with disabilities stand out by virtue of behavioral, vocal or physical challenges. Parents, educators, and other adults are the most important advocates that a student with disabilities can have. It is important that adults know the best way to help their kids getting bullied. Bullying isn't always bad. Standing up to bullies and classroom enemies can help children develop. It helps prepare them for the real world because there are always everyday problems in friendships, relationships, work environment, and in everyday life. Although, it may help them develop. Bullying special needs students affects them in very damaging ways. They need someone to stand up for them, not bring them down. There are many damaging effects bullying kids with special needs.
